Will have to go rooting round some Magnolia blogs for inspiration I think! They are from Meljen's designs - I wanted to enter her Seeing Spots competition so used a pink spotty paper background from my Indian Summer range by Paper Pad. Have been getting a bit bored of the usual square shape so thought a half circle makes it a bit more exciting. The birds have been coloured with promarkers and their wings have been glittered for a bit of sparkle.<br />Hope you like!<br /><br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh-aOnb7cINB1HK55LPpJFEjZPrTjAfEyRVgH-DBZc4_wEdi7NRmA684XCZTgk2A8WbskhqP5xtbuINWADmGHV5cNWaU9e9A_9a_LauEOsMRJWeHk9-ASVouuxLtci5E9MO6ux_Asp2p0k/s1600/Meljen+birds.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 312px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5474559628732158034" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh-aOnb7cINB1HK55LPpJFEjZPrTjAfEyRVgH-DBZc4_wEdi7NRmA684XCZTgk2A8WbskhqP5xtbuINWADmGHV5cNWaU9e9A_9a_LauEOsMRJWeHk9-ASVouuxLtci5E9MO6ux_Asp2p0k/s400/Meljen+birds.JPG" /></a><br />I would like to enter this into:<br /><ul><li><a href="http://meljensdesignsdt.blogspot.com/2010/05/challenge-8-seeing-spots.html">Meljen's Designs - Seeing Spots </a></li><li><a href="http://meljensdesigns.blogspot.com/2010/05/featured-stamper-kerstin.html">Meljen's Designs - Featured Stamper<br /></a></li></ul>Emilyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08590197578298515368noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1346960042672736709.post-26340962004194160042010-05-23T07:15:00.000-07:002010-05-23T13:15:03.671-07:00Dandelion Polka DotsWas in serious need for some inspiration and have finally come up with this. It's not my usual style but was fun to make and I'm quite pleased with it. The dandelions are Penny Black and the polka dotty papers are left overs in my stash. The green polka dots are My Mind's Eye but I can't remember where the multi-coloured dots came from.<br /><br />The background of the dandelions has been done with distress inks and I've embossed the whole image with tropic lustre to give it a nice sheen.<br /><br /><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 300px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 400px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5474469702944011906" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgX2GORdHGUSml1haoYcH03KHdRDE5ewPTILiUcAz7PttfNs1-Z8g11kFlvhtwwjv6UbShB-i7RsK1QoUzqHJL3pVd-JPRcMf7-MFgqdGdnj9hnsLbrntVcHEdhYy36zNjzX3Jb92EZNY0/s400/P1010658.JPG" /><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_0IWjarg1TSM/S_k5qDH6HUI/AAAAAAAAAEk/SKuLbvcwt_k/s1600/P1010660.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 300px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 400px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5474470216601312578" border="0" alt="" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_0IWjarg1TSM/S_k5qDH6HUI/AAAAAAAAAEk/SKuLbvcwt_k/s400/P1010660.JPG" /></a><br /><div>I would like to enter this into:</div><ul><li><a href="http://pennybfriendssaturdaychallenge.blogspot.com/">Penny Black - Lots of Dots </a></li><li><a href="http://charismacardz.blogspot.com/2010/05/charisma-challenge-20-3d.html">Charisma - 3D something</a> (this card is layered - the photos just don't show it that clearly!) </li><li><a href="http://meljensdesignsdt.blogspot.com/">Meljen's Designs - Seeing Spots</a> (I have also entered a card using a Meljen's image into this challenge)</li><li><a href="http://papertakeweekly.blogspot.com/2010/05/say-it-with-flowers.html">Papertake Weekly - Say it with Flowers<br /></a><br /></li></ul><div></div>Emilyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08590197578298515368noreply@blogger.com7tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1346960042672736709.post-68444343608296659162010-05-22T03:03:00.000-07:002010-05-23T07:41:13.668-07:00Origami ButterfliesI wanted to use this beautiful flowery background image that I have on one of my craft CDs and thought origami butterflies would set it off perfectly. To make the butterflies I used normal double sided patterned paper and folded up. I curled some wire and stuck on for the antenas!<br /><br /><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_0IWjarg1TSM/S_etAODgOpI/AAAAAAAAAEU/O-ghl1SSh6A/s1600/3d+butterfly.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 285px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5474034091376523922" border="0" alt="" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_0IWjarg1TSM/S_etAODgOpI/AAAAAAAAAEU/O-ghl1SSh6A/s400/3d+butterfly.JPG" /></a><br /><div>I would like to enter this card into:</div><ul><li><a href="http://charismacardz.blogspot.com/2010/05/charisma-challenge-20-3d.html">Charisma Cards - 3D</a></li><li><a href="http://flutterbywednesdays.blogspot.com/2010/05/flutter-by-wednesday-110.html">Flutterby Wednesday - Flowers and Butterflies</a></li><li><a href="http://ooh-la-la-creationschallenges.blogspot.com/">Oo la la - Bright and Cheerful</a></li></ul>Emilyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08590197578298515368noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1346960042672736709.post-55024658943536674952010-05-17T12:24:00.000-07:002010-05-22T03:43:21.624-07:00Origami FishI printed off a blue and white background from my home computer and hand made these blue origami fish for a fun and unusual card. I've left the sentiment blank until I decide who to give it to!<br /><br /><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_0IWjarg1TSM/S_GYULkpddI/AAAAAAAAAEM/CULpOilUE90/s1600/P1010244a.jpg"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 300px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 400px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5472322494703171026" border="0" alt="" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_0IWjarg1TSM/S_GYULkpddI/AAAAAAAAAEM/CULpOilUE90/s400/P1010244a.jpg" /></a><br /><div>I would like to enter this into:</div><ul><li><a href="http://kaboodledoodles.blogspot.com/2010/05/challenge-31-make-monochromatic-card.html">Kaboodle - Monochromatic</a></li><li><a href="http://ooh-la-la-creationschallenges.blogspot.com/2010/05/challenge-54.html">Ooh La La - Bright and Cheerful</a></li></ul>Emilyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08590197578298515368noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1346960042672736709.post-38999866893212485432010-05-03T06:12:00.001-07:002010-05-04T14:24:49.591-07:00Pollycraft BirdsI created this card using K&Company bright papers - they were perfect in a sunshiney yellow, Martha Stewart punches and Pollycraft digi bird stamp. The flowers were made with punches and layering. As always, I've added a bit of sparkle - this time to the birds' wings and their tails. I haven't used a Pollycraft image before but I liked it so much I've ordered one! I've left off a sentiment for now as I'm not sure who I'll send it to yet.<br /><br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhksHvaysc9vrrPfNVBddOEi2jBFJqu3xJj_zuPBVL_CXVlQ8KL4t_GA5bCspZyWAfoQNeGUU_aryuwLee3Qom2GJxSfGZ4lG7H-NdOe3CFJBRR_PR9xiGofkmhuWMUswjadIigfO7viLs/s1600/Pollycraft+Birds.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 383px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5467031191584260050" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhksHvaysc9vrrPfNVBddOEi2jBFJqu3xJj_zuPBVL_CXVlQ8KL4t_GA5bCspZyWAfoQNeGUU_aryuwLee3Qom2GJxSfGZ4lG7H-NdOe3CFJBRR_PR9xiGofkmhuWMUswjadIigfO7viLs/s400/Pollycraft+Birds.JPG" /></a> I would like this card entered into:<br /><ul><li><a href="http://pollycraftchallengeblog.blogspot.com/2010/05/challenge-42-here-comes-sun-becky.html">Pollycraft - Here comes the sun</a> </li></ul><p> </p>Emilyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08590197578298515368noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1346960042672736709.post-88664901230562341852010-05-01T09:11:00.000-07:002010-05-23T07:54:27.651-07:00Dandelion StripesSo my crafty day is just about over as I reeeally need to go and get ready for tonight. Am now running late but at least this card is finished!<br /><br />I really wanted to enter the Penny Black competition and have been desperately trying to come up with some new ideas because I only own 1 stamp! - (fortunately it is Penny Black!) Luckily the Saturday Sketch challenge came to my rescue with some inspiration on layout and Polka Doodles monochromatic theme made me think of green!<br /><br />It was created using distress inks and stamping a Penny Black stamp in the circle. This was then embossed. The stripes in the background are My Mind's Eye papers and a Martha Stewart punch was used across the middle.<br /><br /><br /><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_0IWjarg1TSM/S9xS6emjzVI/AAAAAAAAAD8/IssqZsO0_DU/s1600/Dandelion+Stripes.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 371px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5466335212321623378" border="0" alt="" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_0IWjarg1TSM/S9xS6emjzVI/AAAAAAAAAD8/IssqZsO0_DU/s400/Dandelion+Stripes.JPG" /></a><br />I would like to enter this into:<br /><ul><li><a href="http://pennybfriendssaturdaychallenge.blogspot.com/2010/05/penny-black-saturdayweek-99.html">Penny Black Saturday Challenge - Let's Get Punchy </a></li><li><a href="http://sketchsaturday.blogspot.com/2010/05/week-101-1st-may-mayas-dt-week.html">Sketch Saturday Week 101</a></li><li><a href="http://polkadoodle.blogspot.com/2010/04/week-16-challenge-monochromatic.html">Polka Doodles - Monochromatic</a></li></ul>Emilyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08590197578298515368noreply@blogger.com8tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1346960042672736709.post-87422760332120628342010-05-01T07:17:00.000-07:002010-05-01T07:25:18.268-07:00Flourish Gift TagI don't actually own any flourish stamps or punches so have had to make do with a glue pen and some glitter. Although in hindsight I think that the glue pen is a bit too thick! The tag was literally made with little scraps of left over paper so it'll do fine used just to spruce up someones gift.<br /><br /><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 300px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 400px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5466306683082456402" border="0" alt="" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_0IWjarg1TSM/S9w49255PVI/AAAAAAAAAD0/D2THNvGzBzw/s400/P1010617.JPG" /><br /><p>I would like this tag entered into:</p><ul><li><a href="http://weekendtaggers.blogspot.com/2010/04/week-no-4-with-flourish.html">Tag! So I cut up a square card to create a simple three quarter shaped circle.<br /><br />Colour-wise I decided on some breezy pastels. The green background and pink scalloped circles are My Minds Eye papers and the rest of the papers are scraps from my box. I stamped a Penny Black dandelion stamp with distress inks on to the green background. A glittered Back to Nature butterfly and pale pink shimmery ribbon tops it all off.<br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjqeDbo1RAgfpbbV6STqBg_Mj9OQ6yiBNbXxOSwymHuF8C_CiqRff6DCM9ClN8Dl8FicLgBDAjRvW693YbrbDydh3mmFVKkRWrutRZt0gtm9T85lprel-h94twAhmpF0GiP42PZMTwDFLA/s1600/Butterfly+Circle.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 361px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5466255957456234162" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjqeDbo1RAgfpbbV6STqBg_Mj9OQ6yiBNbXxOSwymHuF8C_CiqRff6DCM9ClN8Dl8FicLgBDAjRvW693YbrbDydh3mmFVKkRWrutRZt0gtm9T85lprel-h94twAhmpF0GiP42PZMTwDFLA/s400/Butterfly+Circle.JPG" /></a> I would like to enter this card into:<br /><ul><li><a href="http://getfunkyandcraft.blogspot.com/2010/05/get-funky-challenge-may.html">Get Funky - Shaped Cards </a></li><li><a href="http://paperplaychallenges.blogspot.com/2010/04/10-week-17-pretty-pastels.html">PaperPlay - Pastels</a><br /></li></ul>Emilyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08590197578298515368noreply@blogger.com6tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1346960042672736709.post-67355120152539585482010-04-30T15:19:00.000-07:002010-05-23T07:56:56.468-07:00Butterfly BirthdayMy first attempt at a creating a card by following a sketch. Really enjoyed it - I wouldn't have come up with this sort of layout myself - will definitely be more adventurous in future!<br /><br />The background is Wisteria Paper Pad and the butterfly is printed from the Back to Nature CD. I've sparkled up the butterfly wings a bit and a Martha Stewart borner punch adds a bit of funk.<br /><br /><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_0IWjarg1TSM/S9tYQGOvR9I/AAAAAAAAADA/I0kS6mClTy0/s1600/Butterfly.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 375px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5466059606317811666" border="0" alt="" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_0IWjarg1TSM/S9tYQGOvR9I/AAAAAAAAADA/I0kS6mClTy0/s400/Butterfly.JPG" /></a> I would like to enter this card into:<br /><ul><li><a href="http://mojomonday.blogspot.com/2010/04/mojo-monday-136.html">Mojo Monday 136<br /></a></li></ul>Emilyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08590197578298515368noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1346960042672736709.post-15339971859093041432010-04-30T09:58:00.000-07:002010-05-23T07:57:35.429-07:00Gift Bag<span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="color:#ffffff;"><span style="font-family:georgia;">Wow so I've had a busy afternoon! Decided to enter another challenge so decorated a plain white gift bag that was in the back of my cupboard - knew I kept it for something! I used My Mind's Eye papers, then stuck on some flowers and strips I made using Back to Nature CD. To finish I tied some green ribbon on and a gift tag</span>.</span></span><br /><br /><br /><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 300px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 400px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5465988151353619826" border="0" alt="" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_0IWjarg1TSM/S9sXQ3vtNXI/AAAAAAAAACw/hexYkZlZXlQ/s400/P1010606.JPG" /><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 300px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 400px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5465988580764135826" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhLSpEmBb02AsP6cQBo7RLdZgAtAMpn3JQ9xEgGmUVR4Cyy_S8Wup_hRH8QFKQYwD45Py9ThIksoVvtr9v98EMusRXdAlnqb20P6PyUphoumlxQpWv796DaMzBIwjd7Izh1XuxVeP1jEe8/s400/P1010604.JPG" /><br /><br /><br /><p><span style="font-family:georgia;color:#ffffff;">I would like to enter my gift bag into:</span></p><ul><li><span style="color:#ffffff;"><a href="http://polkadoodle.blogspot.com/2010/04/week-17-challenge-alter-it.html">Polkadoodles - Alter It! I then embossed the whole card in a lovely tropic lustre colour and added a few glitter spots for extra sparkle. This is the first time I have ever entered anything into a challenge...so hope you like!</span><br /><span style="font-family:Arial;"></span><br /><span style="font-family:arial;"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 327px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 400px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5465952347340086722" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgtkpADWrE4B8v1ixxGCuC1EGcDv9dqBmROq67ZJFthq6iaM1wY-FLpwNr19ucxqjDNQEI-Ama2xrZWmxpYaqPd3B_Ab96fmbfg_enG7Hn4nJsW5KU_MmkFWAFkks51sKYp93iEA4SAa08/s400/dandelions.JPG" /></span><span style="font-family:arial;"><br /></span><p><span style="font-family:arial;color:#ffffff;">I would like to enter this card into:</span></p><ul><li><span style="font-family:arial;color:#ffffff;"><a href="http://kaboodledoodles.blogspot.com/2010/04/challenge-29-embossing.html"><span style="color:#ffffff;">Kaboodle </span><span style="color:#ffffff;">- embossing challenge</span></a></span></li><li><span style="font-family:Arial;color:#ffffff;"><a href="http://quixoticpaperie.blogspot.com/2010/04/quixotic-challenge-23-how-distressing.html"><span style="color:#ffffff;">Quixotic - How Distressing</span><span style="color:#ffffff;">! challenge</span></a></span></li></ul><p><span style="font-family:arial;color:#ffffff;">Emily x</span></p>Emilyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08590197578298515368noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1346960042672736709.post-59800016797733992862010-04-30T05:47:00.000-07:002010-04-30T05:53:26.089-07:00Birthday Cards<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_0IWjarg1TSM/S9rSoF69vyI/AAAAAAAAABg/0mDb0evI9Vg/s1600/P1010131.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 300px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5465912683993612066" border="0" alt="" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_0IWjarg1TSM/S9rSoF69vyI/AAAAAAAAABg/0mDb0evI9Vg/s400/P1010131.JPG" /></a><br /><div><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_0IWjarg1TSM/S9rSLzjAOnI/AAAAAAAAABY/gqXhXGsbvpI/s1600/P1010129.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 300px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5465912198024936050" border="0" alt="" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_0IWjarg1TSM/S9rSLzjAOnI/AAAAAAAAABY/gqXhXGsbvpI/s400/P1010129.JPG" /></a> </div><br /><div><br /><br /><div></div></div>Emilyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08590197578298515368noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1346960042672736709.post-75082167662763779772010-04-30T04:42:00.000-07:002010-05-01T04:32:59.743-07:00Hello!<span style="color:#ffffff;">So this is my first ever crafty blog.
